This place I have resided
The one I have known for years
I am alone in the rustling cornfield
I am able to think here
Reflecting on my future
Where am I going?
What am I doing?
That is the question.
All of the sudden…
There are birds,
Big, black birds everywhere.
Suddenly, they all flock towards me
Overwhelming me to the point to suffocation
I can’t escape the abrupt attack
I begin to panic
I freeze and can’t run away
I am left to the birds
With no defense
Then, salvation comes from the distance
“Get off my scarecrow!”
